It all began with “Chance”

There’s no better option…Adoption…

It changes their life…It changes your life…

🚨 When Emergency Vet Bills Hit All at Once

It’s been a long time since we’ve had to say this…

But today, we are facing a real financial strain.

In just three weeks, our veterinary expenses have surged beyond what our regular donations and adoption fees can sustain.

Last week, Genesis was rushed to the emergency vet.

She has an autoimmune disease that is attacking her blood cells.

She is weak.

She is frail.

But she is fighting.

She is still hospitalized. Her bill has already exceeded $1,000 — and it continues to grow.

When we visited her, she lifted her head, found enough strength to give kisses… and then gently laid back down. That small moment reminded us why we do this.

And Genesis isn’t alone.

• Lucky, our tiny Rat Terrier, has just undergone extensive testing for Cushing’s disease.

• Multiple dogs need heartworm treatment.

• One sweet girl is awaiting mammary mass removal surgery.

We always operate on a “pay-as-we-go” model. We do not take on more than we can responsibly care for. But when medical emergencies stack up like this, even the most careful planning gets tested.

Without adoptions and donations, everything slows.

Care slows.

Rescues pause.

Lives wait.

We refuse to let that happen.

If you have ever believed in what we do…

If you have ever celebrated a life saved…

If you have ever shared one of our posts…

Today, we are asking you to stand with Genesis — and all the others depending on us.

Your gift doesn’t just pay a bill.

It buys time.

It buys treatment.

It buys hope.

💙 Donate today.

💙 Pray for Genesis.

💙 Share her story.

Every life we’ve saved has been because of YOU.

And right now, they need you again.

Meet Marge –

Your 120-Pound Teddy Bear

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to hug a living, breathing teddy bear… meet Marge.

This 2-year-old, 120-pound female Neapolitan Mastiff was found standing in the middle of the road just before Christmas 2025 — waiting, hoping someone would notice her. No one was looking for her. No one came.

But Marge never lost her softness.

From being used for breeding and then discarded, to stepping into the vet’s office as if she somehow knew her life was about to change — Marge’s story is one of quiet resilience. After a month in boarding (where she won every heart in the building), she transitioned beautifully into foster care and has proven to be a polite, affectionate houseguest.

She:

  • Walks well on leash

  • Is crate desensitized and calm when needed

  • Gets along with other dogs (even tolerates a playful “whipper snapper” with gentle patience)

  • Is up to date on vaccines

  • Heartworm negative

  • Spayed

  • Microchipped

Marge is the kind of dog who leans into you. Who rests her big head against your side. Who just wants to belong somewhere safe.

She has been through enough.

Now she’s ready for a forever home that will never let her wonder again.

If you’ve been looking for a loyal, gentle giant to love — Marge is waiting.

“Volunteering with Cookies Canine Animal Rescue and Sanctuary means being part of something bigger than yourself. This rescue does not cut corners, does not look the other way, and does not stop when things get hard — and they do get hard.

I have watched this team fight for dogs that had no voice and no options. The dedication, ethical standards, and sheer heart behind this organization is rare in rescue.

Cookies Canine Animal Rescue and Sanctuary is not just doing rescue right — they are setting the bar for what rescue should be.”

EMERGENCY FOSTERS NEEDED NOW!

Your home could be the difference between life and waiting.

This year, many paws found safety because compassion showed up.

Cookies Canine Animal Rescue and Sanctuary exists because of people who care deeply about animals in need. From emergency rescues and medical care to warm beds and second chances, none of this work happens alone.

As we celebrate the holiday season, we want to pause and say thank you—for standing with us, believing in our mission, and helping us change lives one dog at a time.

From all of us at Cookies Canine Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, we wish you a joyful Christmas and a New Year filled with hope.

One of the best ways you can make a difference…Adopt

Your choice to adopt saves lives and provides second chances.

By adopting, you are saving at least two lives-the dog you adopt and the dog who is rescued-because you made it possible for the space to be available.

“Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” -Desmond Tutu
